Take 100 gms Chana Daal
Get 1 bunch Palak
Make ready 2 Big sized tomatoes
Prepare 1 Medium sized, Onion

Instructions to make Restaurant Style Chana Daal Palak:
Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours.
Wash and transfer to pressure cooker, add water as per quantity, add cinnamon stick,1 tbsp oil, and 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder.
Pressure cook dal for 2 whistles only as dal is already soaked so will cook fast.
Take kadhai, add oil and heat, add bay leaves, cumin seeds, a pinch of Asafoetida, red chilli, and saute for a minute.
Add finely chopped Onions and ginger Garlic paste and Saute for 2 minutes.
Add sliced chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cook till tomatoes soften.
Add washed and finely chopped palak. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
Add cooked Chana Daal, add water and adjust consistency.
Add salt as per your taste.
Cover and bring to a boil for 10 minutes.
Burn a piece of charcoal and place it in a bowl and keep on top of dal. Add a few drops of ghee or oil, make smoke and Cover for 2-3 minutes.
Prepare tempering meanwhile-
Take oil in tempering bowl, heat for 2 minutes, add crushed Garlic cloves, red chillies, pinch of Kashmiri chilli powder for red colour.
Pour this hot tadka over prepared Dal Palak.
Delicious restaurant-style smoky, garlic dal palak is ready.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
